As the designated Food Bank for Shasta County, we are a member of Feeding America, the largest Food Bank in the United States.  This enables us to purchase bulk food at a low cost to share with community food lockers.  Included in the programs housed by our Food Bank are the Senior Brown Bag Program, EFAP- The Emergency Food Assistance Program USDA COMMODITIES) and another Emergency Food Program.

Senior Brown Bag Program

The Brown Bag Program serves low-income seniors aged 60 or older.  Each month  bags of nutritious food are distributed at Eight distributuion sites located throughout Shasta County. Membership Fee is $12.00 Semi - annually.
We are always in need of brown and plastic grocery bags . By donating your bags you are supporting senior programs as well as using a great way to recycle!

Emergency Food Program
Qualified low-income families may receive a 3 day supply of food based on family size.  Families are helped on an emergency basis and may receive this assistance once a month.  Distributions are held the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 8am til 9am only, at the Food Bank located within our main facility at 100 Mercy Oaks Drive in Redding.
EFAP-Emergency Food Assistance Program
Government surplus commodities are distributed on a monthly basis to low-income families and individuals throughout Shasta County.  Those who qualify under USDA guidelines receive surplus commodities at one of 12 distribution locations.
